Providing Supported Living forĀ Forensic Mental Health

Our Journey

Living Horizon has a strong reputation throughout the UK as a leading provider of specialist supported living, supporting those with forensic mental health needs and very challenging backgrounds. With our experienced and knowledgeable 24/7 team, we provide high quality supported living in a community setting for vulnerable adults with mental health needs, challenging behaviour, acquired brain injuries, learning disabilities and other complex needs.

Established in 2012 and headquartered in Buckinghamshire by our founder Waqas Rehman, it was a natural step from his notable policing career to move into the care sector, where he harnessed his discipline and strategic experience with a compassionate approach, in order to support some of the most challenging forensic clients.

Starting with one home in Aylesbury, we have expanded our portfolio of homes , where we proudly safeguard service users and the community for mutual success. More often than not, our service users hold the longest tenancies with us, than any other placements in their adult lives. Our goal is to define excellence in care, by maximising efficiencies for service users, local authorities and our team, to create support and long-term success for all.

Waqas served as a London Metropolitan Police Officer for 11 years. All the experience and core skills he accumulated over this time, made it a natural and meaningful transition to managing supported living for those with forensic mental health needs. His ability to connect with service users, predict triggers and risks based on data and experience has helped to create a structured system for risk mitigation and compassionate support of our challenging service users, and a resilient environment for our staff.
